The West Ankole Diocese Vision, which is \u201cA united,\nChrist centered and holistically empowered Church\u201d is our aspiration and what\nwe strive to achieve over the next five years, charging us to commit to working collaboratively as a team, and\nvaluing different types of structures of ministry, that allow us to nurture our\nrelationship with God, grow our discipleship, and make a positive difference in\nthe world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Making a difference in the world includes helping\nChristians to generate income and build stable families. This is not any far\naway from wealth creation, in which we sensitize and encourage them to use\ntheir hands, God-given wisdom and acquired knowledge to develop their\nhouseholds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We cannot forget, that God is honored more, when the\nministry of the Church impacts society and transforms lives. This\ntransformation comes about when people are able to get or meet their spiritual,\nmental, social, and physical needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this spirit, the planning and development office\nhas embarked on engaging Christians and their leaders to participate in\ncommercial agricultural activities that can boost income at household and\ncommunity level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Transformational workshops are being held at\nArchdeaconry level, where sub-h parish, parish, and Archdeaconry meet for a day\nand get knowledge on how best they can transform their lives economically. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These groups then carry the message to other\nChristians in their congregations. Preachers are encouraged to integrate\ntransformational messages into their Sunday and day to day interface with the\ncongregations. We hope this will bring about positive change in the diocese. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We do all this because as a diocese, our focus is\ntwofold: spiritual growth and socio-economic transformation. Fighting poverty\nand all its forms is one of our top priorities. We educate our Christians and\nencourage them to engage in income generating activities, especially those that\nare agriculture-based and related, and having our Jubilee SACCO in place, we\nare hopeful that our clergy and Christians can use the bank to develop and do\nprojects for their families\u2019 wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once these people are fully sensitized, and have put\nmessages to action, they will double their income generation capacity, and\nresult into transformation and prosperity, thus growth and development across\nthe diocese.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
